Choose your topic and then do some careful research on it. You need to use at least TWO different sources from which to obtain your information. These sources MUST be mentioned in your oral. You may use ONE digital photograph OR a 15 sec video clip to support your oral. Should you have an alternative topic you would like to share, please chat to me so that I can include it on the list. The following guideline can be used to assist you:
INTRODUCTION
- Greet your audience
- Think of a unique and attention-keeping way to introduce your topic. It’s not terribly interesting to start off with: Today I am going to tell you about…
- Tell your audience why you find the topic interesting. (If you don’t find it interesting, choose something else!!!)
BODY OF CONTENT
- Explain what your topic is about.
- You may be able to give some really interesting examples of your topic
- You may be able to talk from personal experience
- Remember you have to cite (quote from) 2 sources.
CONCLUSION
- End your oral by evaluating the quote from a personal perspective.
- NEVER end off saying : Thank you for listening to my speech
- Make sure you end your oral confidently. It spoils the impact when you ‘drizzle’ your last words.
- Remember, the end is just as important as the beginning!
